Baseball or Pie? Why not both?

While some Harbor Hawks were taking care of business on the field, another was facing off in arguably a more important battle: A pie eating contest.

After the fourth inning, pitcher Drew Dwyer sat down next to young fan Xavier in front of two Centerville Pie Company creations with 20 seconds on the clock. Each competitor’s goal: eat more pie than the other.

The two contestants, ready to face off.

When the clock started, it was clear that Dwyer was in over his head.

“[Xavier] started out real hot and I knew I didn’t really have much of a shot,” Dwyer said. “That’s why I started putting [pie] in his plate.”

The fun begins.

The moment when Dwyer knew he was beat.

Although Dwyer got smoked in the contest, it wasn’t all bad.

“[The pie] was very good,” Dwyer remarked. “I actually finished in the dugout after.”

Centerville Pie Company will continue to supply pies at every home game, so come out and support to have a chance at devouring a delicious pie. If you can’t wait that long to get your pie fix, their pies are sold all across the Cape.

The clear champion relishing his victory.
