Host Family Spotlight: The Walker Family

By: Jason Boué

Here in Hyannis, we’re grateful for all of the host families who graciously open their homes to the Harbor Hawks. Over the course of the season, we’ll be highlighting the families who make everything we do at McKeon Park possible. First up is the Walker Family.

The Walker Family

Players Hosting: Ben Williamson (IF, College of William & Mary), Carter Lovasz (RP, College of William & Mary)

Number of Years Hosting: One (2023 is first year hosting)

Why they became a host family:

“I followed Cape Cod baseball league since I was young, living in New York. When we moved to the Cape, it was something I wanted to get involved with. Up until this year, we didn't do it but when Leah Rogers told me that they needed to host families desperately this year, we decided to do it. Originally we were going to do one player but then the two previous hosts told us the two players are easier than one player, so we did two.” - Ed Walker

Favorite part about being a host family:

“Being at the game watching our players perform and [do] well.” - Ed Walker

Fun Fact: Robbie Walker volunteers as the Harbor Hawks scoreboard operator
