Announcer's Booth Gets New Renovations For Hawks '23 Season

With it being over a month since the beginning of the season, the Harbor Hawks have been proud to show off some of their newest features for the 2023 season. One feature that the fans may not have noticed were the prominent updates to the home announcer’s booth.

The Timmy “The Voice” Ellstrom Announcer’s Booth had renovations over this past off-season. The process was led by Judy Walden Scarafile, former president of the CCBL and Hyannis Harbor Hawks. Thanks to a grant from the Yawkey Foundation, the Hawks were able to refurbish the box with complete hardwood flooring and two rooms.

The rooms are used as a main broadcast center and office for the team’s broadcast and production interns this summer. Volunteers from St. Mary’s Church of Barnstable stepped in to paint and add the finishing touches to the room to be ready for the start of the season.

The interns have been enjoying the updates made, giving them enough room to have their whole team fit and functionally work on each broadcast.

“It’s all new and fresh,” broadcast intern Nico Sharp said, “…it’s been really nice up there with all the updates. We have all the assets we need and got a great view of the action at the same time.”
