Hyannis Mets Team Coverage 2009Saturday, July 18, 2009Thundershowers Lead to a messy Night for Mets
Wareham, MA- If anything, the thunder showers were on Wareham's side. The Mets lead the ball game 3 to 2 going into the bottom of the fifth, when the Gatemen scored the tying run. The game was conveniently delayed a half an inning later due to lightening, followed by the thunder and rain that comes with it.
After returning to play, Wareham tacked on 4 runs to their score and the Mets were too shaken up from the thunder and lightening to do anything. Either that or it was the pitching. Who knows? Despite the efforts of the Mets' defense and greatly demonstrated speed in the outfield, they lost 7 to 3. They're back home on Saturday to take on the Whitecaps at 7 PM. Archives
