First Place Mets!

Hyannis 2, Cotuit 0. That's way it looks in the chase for the Barnstable Patriot Cup right now, after the Mets played a solid all around game on Sunday, beating the Kettleers 5-2 in Cotuit.

Chris Dominguez (Louisville) provided the first blow of the game, hitting a no doubt home run to left field in the very first inning with Marcus Jones (NC State) on base to make it 2-0 Mets.

The Mets added one in the third on a Ryan Eden (New Orleans) base hit and two more in the fifth on a single by Clemson's Ben Paulson to make it 5-0.

Russell Brewer of Vanderbilt came on to get his 9th save as Hyannis moved into sole possession of first place in the Western Division at 11-7.

Hyannis plays two straight divisional games this week, first on Monday night in Falmouth and then a makeup game back in Cotuit on Tuesday.
