Bourne- For the second night in a row, the Mets decided to give their faithful fans some free baseball, and for the second night in a row they turn out to be the tough-luck losers. Bourne's Ross Wilson(Alabama) earned a bases loaded walk with two outs in the bottom of the tenth to give the Braves (16-13) a 4-3 win.
The Braves took an early lead with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st. Jordan Henry(Mississppi) lead off with an infield single, followed by a double down the left field line by second baseman Tyler Cannon(Virginia). Two Batters later, Kyle Roller(E. Carolina) hit into a fielder's choice which scored Henry, Wichita State's Dusty Coleman knocked in Cannon on an infield single off the glove of Mets starter Colin Bates(North Carolina). The Mets got on the board with 2 of their own in the 3rd when Marcus Jones(NC State) and Ben Paulsen(Clemson) singled and both came around on Chris Dominguez's(Louisville) double. The Mets took the lead in the 5th after a Jones single and a wild pitch, Paulsen singled home Jones to make it 3-2. Bourne tied the game in the 7th with an RBI single off the bat of Henry. The game would stay at 3 a piece until Wilson's walk in the 10th. Paulsen and Dominguez each had a pair of hits for the Mets(16-13), while Jones added three of his own in the loss. This long stretch of almost 30 consecutive games in as many days continues Friday, July 18th, at 7pm with a home and home against Wareham. Both teams will travel back to Hyannis for a 7pm start on Saturday, July 19th. Archives
