SOUTH YARMOUTH- Terry Doyle ( Wood got through the first two innings unscathed but gave up the eventual game winning run when Grant Green (USC) scored on a Sean Ochinko (LSU) sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third inning. The Red Sox added insurance runs in the fourth and fifth innings respectively. The Red Sox scored one last run off of Mets starter Austin Wood when Collin Cowgill ( Wood was replaced by Cal Northridge right-hander James Jolicouer who entered the game with a 1.35 ERA in four appearances. Jolicouer worked effectively retiring all four batters he faced. The Red Sox added three more in the bottom half of the eighth when San Diego reliever Ricardo Pecina, who has had a difficult time getting things going this season, started off by walking the first two batters. Aaron Luna (Rice) and Collin Cowgill scored on a pinch-hitting Diego Seastrunk (Rice) single. Jason Castro (Stanford) who reached on a fielder’s choice scored the final run of the game on a perfectly executed squeeze play by Grant Green (USC).
