Hyannis Mets Game StoriesMonday, June 25, 2007Mets fall short in extra inningsFresh off a win over cross town rival Cotuit, the Hyannis Mets were riding high on last night's victory into today. After a scoreless inning from After that half inning both teams seemed to settle down. They could not string together hits to score runs. Slow rollers were hit back to the pitchers. Players were fooled on off speed pitches without lifting the bat off their shoulders. Balls were being hit, but right to players, until the top of the fifth. Going from a game that looked like it was making the first call to the bullpen in the top of the second, the game moved steadily along from that point. Matt Hague (Washington) stepped up to the plate, and on a two and nothing pitch was looking for something to hack at and got his wish driving a solo shot over the wall in deep center. Like clock work the game sped up as players were being rung up until another three innings passed.
