As a freshman for Dallas Baptist in 2008, Chris made 23 relief appearances as the primary set up man for the Patriots, going 6-5 with a 2.64 ERA and three saves.  He averaged almost a strikeout an inning, mowing down 47 hitters in 47.2 innings pitched.  At Namaan Forest High School in Garland, Texas, Chris had a stellar junior season, hitting .482 at the plate and posting a 0.90 ERA on the hill.
